A Woman’s Place Is …

So today I found a hand-written card a woman whose name I didn’t recognize had written. I found it ironic, considering today is International Women’s Day. I’ll share it with you:

I do not use the word feminist. I am a woman of God. Much of the madness surrounding the women’s lib movement has cost us family unity. In life you cannot have it all in one day. Our children do not know what a real man or woman is. The lines of gender are so blurred that men are confused as well as women.

Feminism was touted as a cure all for everything. But 50 percent divorces later, out of control children later, and chaos in our country later, no one is mending the store. Self fulfillment is fine in its place. But our children are suffering ’cause nobody is home. Men and women are not products of their genitalia. God knew about division of labor and what was best for us. We ignore our differences at our own peril. Titus 2nd chapter should be taught from the pulpit and parlor. It’s time to circle the wagons to preserve our families or civilization as we know it will fail.

We will probably discuss men’s and women’s roles in society and the home until the trump sounds and never reach any resolve. It’s just one of those things. But this I know for sure: We must stop expending our energies trying to make our relationships mirror others’. Just because things have always been done a certain way isn’t a sufficient enough reason to continue on that way; and just because something is revolutionary doesn’t mean it’s what’s best for now. My two cents.
