Black Hollywood

More “Black History Monthness” for ya. contributor, Michael Ventre pontificates:

Has Hollywood become more tolerant, more accepting, more open-minded? Or is it simply that its obsession with green makes it color-blind when it comes to backing a project? And do (Denzel) Washington, (Will) Smith and (Tyler) Perry represent a breakthrough, or are they isolated cases who have defied the odds?

While in this racially fluid culture “black is the new black,” green is now and shall always be the consummate black.

Read Ventre’s thoughts in their entirety here.

Though he's not mentioned in the article, it might be slightly blasphemous to mention black Hollywood and not at least acknowledge Spike Lee.
