You Say You Mean Good for Me

Whether it’s the government, your man (or woman, whichever way you swing), your employer (there are plenty of snide comments I could make about noveau slavery from my too-up-close-and-personal experience, but I won’t … right now) even technology, there’s no way you could not relate to this message in some kind of way.

“You say you mean good for me/but you don’t do it/ you say you have a plan but you just don’t go through with it … ”

Despite the fact that this song has always resonated with me, it does today, in particular. And it’s an appropriate follow-up to the previous post.

What have you pledged your allegiance to that wasn’t reciprocated?

(For what it’s worth, this performance wasn’t on BET. It was on “Tavis Smiley” on PBS. I don’t know the last time they have played something of social significance on BET. That hip-hop town hall meeting thingy doesn’t count.)
