What Not to Wear
In high school and junior high, we had a dress code. The code basically said girls weren’t allowed to wear shorts shorter than five inches above the knee or skirts shorter than three inches above the knee. That was about it. I don’t think there was anything in writing about guys. Oh. Maybe thy weren’t supposed to wear hats inside buildings. But that was high school.

You guys could wear shorts in high school? We couldn’t. I always thought the reasons were so arbitrary. … Actually they never gave us a reason. It wasn’t a modesty issue because we couldn’t even wear capri pants. Guys couldn’t wear ankle length shorts. It was really silly.
